LIghtning and thunder last night

Here in Mt. Shasta in the last leg of our one month journey as of Tomorrow since we left the SF Bay area for Lake Tahoe across Nevada to Twin Falls and then Jackson, Wyoming, the Tetons at Teton National Park and into Yellowstone, Glacier National Park and Banff and Lake Louise we finally reached Mt. Shasta  yesterday after driving (over 1 month with about 70 hours of driving from San Francisco to Banff and Lake Louise and then Spokane, Seattle, Port Townsend, Portland and now Mt. Shasta for the 4th of July!

At first the lightning and thunder was far away last night and then one lightning strike lit up our room and where my wife was sleeping like it was daylight with a crash almost immediately later so it was very very close and very very loud. Tonight it looks like it really might let loose and there was a little smattering of snow above about 12,000 feet to 14,000 feet on the mountain today too and the roofs were wet this morning so I guess it rained last night (and likely will rain tonight too).

Last night it said it might rain and lightning and thunder and it did. Then today it cooled down a lot to about 72 or less mostly in town and tomorrow it is supposed to be raining tonight I guess. Here is the weather for Mt. Shasta this week as of right now:
