It was a pretty amazing experience there in Mt. Shasta going there almost every summer from age 5 through 21 years of age and being in the Pageant from 1953 until 1969 when I was 21. My parents were in charge of the "I AM" Sanctuary on Hope Street in Los Angeles too from 1954 until 1960 and we lived in Tujunga and Glendale these years in the Greater Los Angeles area. I grew up and identified with being a Surfer in the 1960s even though my friends also were street racers which was a different thing then because it wasn't as illegal as it is now. So, if you watch the Surfing movies with Annette Funnicelo or you watch "American Graffiti" this was my experience from about 1960 to 1969 around there in California living close to the ocean then. I bought a 1956 Ford STation Wagon for 800 dollars in 1964 when I was 16 from working as an electrician with my father who was an electrical contractor then. Amazing Times!
I also went to my senior Year in High School to the "I AM" School which was then in Santa Fe, New Mexico. So, I was the class of 1966 and graduated in May of 1966 there in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Amazing Times! It's almost like we live in a completely different world now from the 1960s which is sometimes hard to wrap my head around these days especially.
Also, from 1963 until 1968 I was what they call a "Violet Flame Angel" in the pageant of the life of Christ and then in 1968 because I'm almost 6 foot 5 inches I was Archangel Gabriel who zaps the tomb of Jesus and Jesus comes out transfigured which was pretty cool. In 1969 my last year in the pageant I was "An Angel of Promise" who sounds a trumpet as Jesus Makes his ascension on an elaborate lift or elevator that looks like a big tree on Pageant Day if they are still doing it like this this year. The pageant is generally in August of every year. however, if you want to go to this you should check online what the schedule is this year. Just type in "I AM" Come Pageant in mt. Shasta" for your entry into Google Search or another search engine.
