The problem is not now. For example, they are not trying to eliminate Trump or Xi or Putin but rather to eliminate people that directly or indirectly cause human extinction during the next 3 centuries of time.
Also, they are not about trying to protect any systems of governance and ONLY trying to prevent human extinction.
This is just speculation at present but my sense of this is that they are worried about a deadly combination of a pandemic coupled with Global Warming coupled with the significant breakdown in all forms of government on earth and the problems that would create in order to prevent human extinction.
Also, I believe most species that have gone extinct they likely have moved forward or backward in time lines so they remain alive and not extinct. The Rangers (we call them Forest Rangers) for Galactic Park Earth would likely do this to protect all species that they want to continue to exist after some humans survive the twin terrors of overpopulation and Global Climate changes caused by the actions of humans the last 25,000 years from slash and burn techniques in Farming and burning of fossil fuels.
So, it is my present experience that they are not necessarily protecting ANY form of government on earth but rather focusing quite narrowly on the fact that some humans survive global warming at all as it gets 100 times worse this coming century affecting most people in some way shape or form.
