After actually going to India and Nepal I can tell you that what I have experienced in India and Nepal leads me to believe this is a true story.
The Muslims were attacking a monastery manned by Tibetan Nuns (so all female monastery).
The Diamond Sow (Dorje Pakmo) turned all the nuns into pigs and so they all ran out and the Muslims all ran away because to Muslims then pigs were evil omens because if you eat pig in the desert because of no refrigeration then you likely were going to die as pig meat spoils fast and kills people without refrigeration.
So, they ran away from the pigs as evil so the Nuns all got away from there and lived.
This is why she is called "The Diamond Sow"
