Out of Sync
After writing the "Out of Sync" article above I started to think more about this and decided that if what happened in Japan was "Out of Sync" with normal reality then what did that mean?
What I came to was thinking of a simile. So, for example, if the Galaxy was a gasoline engine with spark plugs and you thought of earth as one of the spark plugs, maybe time being the way it is on earth is the time in between when the spark plug has a spark sent to it to ignite the gas in that cylinder to make the engine run. So maybe every 26,000 years or so a spark comes down the cable and now is the time for that spark. The reason we humans didn't know about it is because we don't live long enough. If you look at all of human recorded history it is only if we stretch it maybe under 10,000 years (not enough to reach 26,000 years or galactic alignments or big ice ages)
So, maybe if you think if Earth as a big (or small) spark plug depending upon your point of view and the Galaxy as the gasoline engine we may be starting to receive our 500 to 1000 year spark. This was a conclusion that I came to. If it works for you go with it. If not, that's okay too.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
