I was given this as a young adept by one of my teachers. I find it a useful meditation or contemplation as you wish:
"If you want to live forever you may die right now.
But if you are ready to die right now you may live forever."
One way to look at it is within the stance of the warrior.
Another way to look at it is to say, "A coward dies a thousand deaths. A hero dies but one!"
So, then looking at it in various ways through contemplation the lesson is: "Be Fearless and live Forever"
Or conversely, "Be a coward and die a thousand deaths."
So, it appears the better outcome is to "Be fearless and live Forever"
So whether this forever is metaphorical like recognized heroes down through history that have all passed away mostly by now. Or whether it is to live forever in a human body on earth or beyond, learning to be fearless in a useful way might be helpful in the overall process leading to immortality either metaphorical or physical.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
