Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman,
who was found dead in his apartment in New York City on Sunday, died of
an apparent drug overdose, a New York city police source said.The source said Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment after a 911 emergency call from a friend of his. The New York City Police Department confirmed to the LA Times that the “Capote” actor was discovered with a hypodermic needle in arm.
Hoffman won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the 2005 biographical film Capote, and received three Academy Award nominations as Best Supporting Actor.
