A friend was visiting last night with his girlfriend and he gave me sort of a sad look and said, "The ocean is 75 degrees 25 miles of the California coast. Since he has a master's degree I had no reason to doubt what he said. However, this should be concerning for all of us because that just isn't normal I don't think at all.
North Coast normal waters right now should be between about 56 and 58 degrees Fahrenheit and don't change a whole lot during the year usually and Southern California beaches waters should be between 70 degrees and 75 degrees in the summers and about 60 to 65 Degrees in the Winters. At least this was what it was when I grew up in Glendale and was a surfer from about 1962 to 1969 in southern California.
So, 75 degrees that close to the coast means to me a really big El Nino is present right now and likely into the winter so the likelihood is a whole lot of rain and erosion to the California, Oregon, Washington and Canadian Coasts and flooding pretty far inland because that is what usually happens in an El Nino year.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
