This happened really quickly, surprisingly quickly. I looked out today during the rainstorm and saw puddles in front of my house. They only appear there when the soil is saturated with water and the spring is starting to run through my yard. I put a French drain around my house so the spring won't make ponds under my home so it runs around my house downhill into my front yard. But now, where cars park is now grass with puddles burying parts of the wild grasses. So, the soil is already saturated at least where I live in Northern California. So, at least the trees and plants are happy. I'm sort of amazed this happened in only 14 days (one storm last week and another one today and tomorrow).
So, I guess what I'm saying here is if more storms keep coming successively there is going to be flooding anywhere the soil is saturated like it is here now. I'm on a slight hill so I'm likely okay but people down below in more flood plain kind of properties are likely going to have a problem if we get more storms very soon before this water has a chance to drain off or evaporate off some.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
