I was thinking about whether China will stop killing people in Beijing or not with the air?
I'm not sure of the answer to this question.
What is more likely to happen is the rich who have to be in Beijing on business will get great filters for their air conditioners and heaters and just never go outside unless they are in a vehicle with an air conditioner. The middle Class would slowly move away from Beijing as it gets worse and the poor might stay and slowly die there if they have jobs there.
But, at some point there would be a tipping point where Beijing would start to become a sort of Ghost town where only the very poor lived then. So, it seems to me rather than economically watch the city collapse that then something might be done about the air that is killing 4400 a day every single day now, especially since they are in a red day warning level now and they have no higher warning level at present. Where if you go outside you might die at this point very soon without a face mask on to filter out large particulates from your lungs.
