How the Enlightenment Predicted Modern Populism

This is an excellent article: My point of view is what happened is that globalization which spread wealth all over the planet, in places like the U.S. and Europe did not also create "Trickle Down" to the middle Class at all. Because only the Upper class of executives, owners and stockholders benefited at all. Since Unions had also been destroyed by Reagan and now Trump, there was no where to go but populism. However, the Trump voters were conned by Trump who is obviously not interested in the disenfranchised. So, once again the disenfranchised have been lied to, first by Republicans since Reagan and now by a populist who has only his own interests in mind and even that in a very very confused sort of way.
