What we are witnessing in Hawaii and in Yellowstone and under Vermont and New Hampshire could just be increased movement of magma caused by changing magnetic poles. After all, Earth is a Geo Dynamo with many interacting electrical fields and magnetic actions and reactions all over.
So, this might be what we are experiencing with increased volcanic activity of all kinds worldwide.
