About once or twice a day I have been following the Carr Fire's progress northward because I'm worried about Castle Crags and north of there into Dunsmuir and the city of Mt. Shasta. A week ago that seemed impossible but with these winds presently blowing embers and throwing fire all the way across the freeway to the East over Interstate 5 this now (with bad winds in the forecast for the next week) it looks possible it could burn north further and possibly past Castle Crags at this point from this present vantage point. Since there are so few structures and because of how many serious fires are burning in California and because this area is beautiful but not many people live here, I could see presently that it is possible we are going to lose this area this summer to a fire and the likely fire might be the Carr fire. Fire personnel are presently stretched so thin this fire might not be completely put out because the priority is lives and structures statewide and not forests which is also logical.
