This is one of those series that reminds me of the same moral dilemma that I had if I recommending "Breaking Bad". Is it an excellent (so far) SYFY series. Yes. Is it horror? maybe, is it a comedy? Definitely. Is it well done? Definitely. Is it a guilty pleasure for me so far YES. But, would I recommend it to everyone now during Covid? It completely depends upon the person.
This series is really well done and put together well. On one hand it reminds me of "People of earth" but the undertone is far more serious than that one for all mankind. The undertone on this one is that this alien whose ship crashes in Colorado came to kill off the whole human race. And yet when lightning strikes his space ship it is sort of like the Earth Saying "NO! You will NOT kill off the human race but you might live here for awhile!"
Because it's sort of like Earth and humans adopt this guy who is really weird in a strange sort of way. And that's what fun about this movie. However, this guy is a total survivor. He's not "Paul" the alien who is more social. This guy is going to survive pretty much no matter what. And this is how this program jumps between sci-fi, horror, and comedy seemingly effortlessly (as one watches their mind sort of tweek at the way this show will tweek your mind.
Anyway, I watched 3 episodes last night starting at around 11 pm until about 3 in the morning. Obviously, it was the most fun I've had in a long time in watching anything on TV.
This is how I would say it: "Mind warping but really funny and thought provoking".
