This was from about 1903 at Kitty Hawk to around World War II when planes were being tested and some designs had to be thrown out because too many pilots and passengers were dying?
Well. We are at a similar stage now with Software in Cars, planes, trains and Ships and other devices where many people are going to die from software in moving vehicles simply because software is zeros and one's and not anyone or anything intelligent to begin with.
When you try to make zeros and ones the arbiter of human life in any vehicle you are going to have problems that are mostly unforeseen at present.
Zeros and ones didn't evolve up from the mud but only evolved in theory out of people's minds. So, without thousands of years of physical evolution you are going to have a lot of deaths in vehicles of various kinds for the exact same reason that people were dying like mad in planes especially from 1903 to about 1957 when the first passenger jet airliners were built and used.
So, expect a lot of deaths caused by software thinking things like a semi truck is a sign and other crazy stuff for at least the foreseeable future. It's just a fact a whole lot of people are going to be killed or maimed by software during these times from all sorts of sea, land and air and space vehicles.
My thought is that we might reach some sort of balance like we did in 1957 with Passenger jets by maybe 2100 AD. This is my present thought about all this.
