This to me is one of the most powerful statements that is true about life.
How often have you moved on information of one kind or another only to find that it wasn't true?
So, this is why "moderation in all things" keeps people alive and safer and happier. To go off half cocked just because someone said something often just is harmful to everyone.
As you move through life you see how much you don't know until you learn otherwise.
For example, I looked around me at people literally dying in their 20s, 30s and 40s from overwork and thought to myself "This is crazy! Is all people do is work until they die?"
So, from watching so many die in my life from their teens through about 40 but a more useful figure is likely 30 I learned from all this to "Work Smarter not Harder".
Why? Because working harder often just gets you dead with nothing to show for it.
"Unless of course it is your own business and you are not really working by the hour anymore."
But, even then you can work so much you never see your kids grow up and then often your wife divorces you because either she never sees you at all or you go and have affairs and then that will end your marriage and your family.
So, what is important in life? I would say learning to be balanced in all ways is what might be important in life and also having compassion for yourselves and all other beings in the universe.
In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, "This is actually what is important in life."
