Listening to Hoot Owls at 11pm Monday night

The air conditioning is nice but my lungs don't usually like the refrigeration of the air so usually in a car I'm okay with air conditioning ONLY going onto my feet even if I open the window up to about 100 degrees here in Southern California where I am now. We picked up my son in law at the LAX Airport in Los Angeles today and drove to my cousin's in Orange California. I got to watch my grand daughter and daughter and her husband swim in my cousin's big pool which was nice. I have been coming here to their house since around 1978 when i turned 30 with my first wife and my son who was born in 1974 who is now 51 years old and lives in Oregon.

The hoot owls calling for a mate reminds me of living in Southern California in the past. In the 1950s when I first moved here from Washington it was the Mocking birds that mock all the other birds bird calls in Vista I remember the most. Owls live everywhere on earth except for Antarctica which I think is too cold for them even though they often do well in the colder weather, especially the Snowy Owls that live in the arctic and are white to match the snow as camouflage for hunting.
