I don't think it will be a nuclear war. I think it could be all over the world sort of like what is presently happening in Ukraine and Israel with a lot of missiles and Drones blowing civilians up.
If it goes nuclear then everyone on earth is going to die (or at the very least civilization will be gone possibly permanently along with all present day governments and people.
This is why Computer hacking and missiles and drones and bad uses of AI will likely be the war for at least the next 5 to 10 years now on earth.
I think you really sort of have to call this present era "The Second Cold War" because of this.
Also, even during the Cold War there was the Viet nam War and before that the Korean War and after these there was the Iraq War and then the War in Afghanistan and there was even a time when Saddam Hussein took over Kuwait and the Kuwaitis actually paid NATO countries to kick Saddam out of there.
Here is more regarding Saddam Taking Kuwait for a short period of time:
The following picture is of fighter jets over all Kuwait's oil well set on fire by Saddam leaving Kuwait. His soldiers literally set on fire and blew up all the oil wells then in Kuwait and the U.S. sent guys to put out these fires which were known of all over the world for putting out oil well fires to put all these fires out.

- Forced annexation: After installing a puppet government, Saddam Hussein formally annexed Kuwait later that month and declared it to be Iraq's 19th province.
- Reasons for the invasion: Hussein's motives included seizing Kuwait's vast oil reserves to bolster Iraq's economy, resolving territorial disputes, and erasing a large debt that Iraq owed Kuwait from the Iran-Iraq War.
- International response: The invasion triggered widespread international condemnation. The United Nations Security Council demanded Iraq's withdrawal and imposed a trade embargo.
- Liberation: When Hussein refused to pull out, a military coalition gathered to enforce the UN resolution, culminating in the air and ground campaign known as Operation Desert Storm in early 1991. The coalition's swift offensive drove Iraqi forces out, restoring Kuwait's sovereignty by the end of February 1991.
