Most people, especially authors don't have the non-dualistic attention to detail that J.K. Rowling does. In other words except for the magical wand quality about everything the people would actually be fairly believable in the real world to be sort of like they are. Also, no one is perfect and everyone has clay feet, not the least of which is Harry Potter. What separates Potter out from most of the rest is ability, kindness of heart and shear bravado and bravery. The will to die if necessary for his friends. But absolutely everyone in this movie and book series is flawed, has been wounded by life in one way or another, and all find a way to muddle through one way or another just as if they all were muggles.
Also, the back story regarding Dumbledore and Snape is pretty interesting as well.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
