The problem with smartphone spying is that even if someone says, "Oh. The keystrokes aren't really being read." That's a joke. Because once the keystrokes are recorded they "could" be read by anyone who had access to the keystrokes for literally hundreds of years if that record of keystrokes was preserved in relation to whose phone it was. So, even if we were to believe the companies that the companies are not interested in the keystrokes, I'm sure someone, even if it was a programmer would find someone to buy certain people's keystrokes like say the president of a company, organization, or a major stock trader, a politician etc. All that "keystroke" information would be priceless information that some people would pay dearly for. So, the very fact that all keystrokes are recorded means that someone, anyone could get those keystrokes and make a fortune off of what they said in some instances. Privacy? What privacy?
Also, for me personally, I have pretty much given up emails because they seem pretty useless most of the time. If I want to communicate I would much rather send a phone text. So, if you have a smartphone now you have no privacy. Anything you write in a text or do on your phone there will be a record of it. This is something to think about next time you pick up your smartphone and text, call, surf on the internet or anything else you like to do.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
