Reindeer from near Loch Morlich in the Cairngorm mountains
I thought it might be fun for you to see this picture of Reindeer that we took near Loch Morlich in the Cairngorm Mountains of Scotland in October of this year. In 1999 they had reindeer herds running wild on the way up towards the ski lift then on the Cairngorm mountains near Loch Morlich and Aveimore. Now there is a Funicular (train Gondola) which goes up a steep slope to the top of the ski runs there. When we reached the summit of the funicular the temperatures were about 35 to 37 degrees Fahrenheit with about 40 mph winds going by in gusts. At first it was a white out but after about 1/2 hour it opened up for a little and the 5 of us got some good pictures of the area and of Loch Morlich several thousand feet below there in north central Scotland. Just for fun I put this picture on my desktop on my laptop during the month of December to make me think of Santa and his reindeer and of our trip to Scotland and England in October 2011.
