And the now famous response from Jacquelyn Kennedy paraphrased, "If you die the children and I want to die with you." when President Kennedy asked the above question during the Cuban missile Crisis.
I was watching "the 60s" mini-series documentary by CNN tonight. Tonight is season 1 episode 2 which is called "The world on the brink" which is about the Berlin Wall and the Cuban Missile Crisis and the world almost being incinerated completely with everything living on earth dead. I was 14 then and my cousin was 19 and on one of the U.S. Navy ships confronting the Soviet Ships near Cuba during that time. So, this was all very real and very personal for me then.
