If they fail to do this, (or if some among them fail to do this) then if the perception among the people becomes, "They are not protecting me but instead killing me and my children" then whether this is true or not the perception has to be changed by all the people and the police working in concert.
The other alternative is open warfare by the populace against the police.
When you have 10% of the population controlling 90% of the wealth this automatically will become a problem in any culture on earth. So, until we get back to about 30% of the population controlling 70% of the wealth like during the 1970s and before this problem between the populace and the police is likely to persist.
So, being safe as a police officer until wealth moves more down the chain so to speak might be an ongoing problem here in the U.S. and in any other country where 10% control 90% of the wealth or where it is even worse than that.
This isn't the problem of just the police or the common people of that nation it becomes the problem of EVERYONE in that nation.
IF people don't pay attention to this then we are looking at something like the French Revolution like Marie Antoinette and King Louis the XVI experienced in the late 1700s where all the aristocracy were guillotined.
Historically, this is just inevitable as wealth moves upwards in the U.S. and in other countries around the world.
So, this problem is everyone's problem in this nation and all around the world. History and it's everyday dynamics are present in this problem.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
