Would anything change if the world knew that the actual number of cases is around 65,000 not 20,000 like is now being reported?
I don't think so which is why only 20,000 or 30% of cases are actually being reported. Because of anger of the general populace in Western Africa that only 30% of people are being treated which causes the 70% of cases to not only become much more fatal percentage wise but also often causes whole families to die from Ebola while caring for their families without any medical help.
So, this whole thing is causing bad feelings from Western Africans towards the world in that 70% of them are left to die alone with no medical care at all.
However, then there is the other side of it where doctors and nurses there who are overlooked in all this, if they actually get Ebola have a 90% to 100% chance of dying of Ebola there in Africa too unless they are American or European and shipped home where they might have a 90% to 100% chance of recovery. But, if they are African doctors or nurses and they accidentally get Ebola they have a 90% to 100% chance of dying because they are so exhausted from treating so many patients for so long.
The average person on earth does not understand any of this.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
