So we don't know what it's like for our children or adults to be handless, legless or headless from an accidental contact with cluster bombs like other countries do.
The only exception to this might be test bombing ranges on Military bases in the U.S. But, civilians are not allowed to enter these places. So, you aren't going to hear about maimings that might take place within the military as a result.
The fact that we don't see cluster bombs where we live does not negate the fact that places like Viet Nam still lose up to 300 people a year to unexploded cluster bomb ordinance and this doesn't even include all the people maimed each year there and other places around the world. So, 41 years from now Syria and Yemen are likely going to each be losing 100 or more to cluster bomblets per year and even more are going to lose legs, arms and eyes and other things to exploding cluster bomblets every year there also.
This is only one of the many reasons why people immigrating to Europe from Syria, Yemen, Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq likely won't want to take their children back to these places once they get established in Europe.
