This saved my life and helped my children have much better lives starting in the mid 1990s.
Recently I told this to a friend going through a breakup and he laughed and said, "The Donner party would love this one!" "There are only opportunities! They would have told their friends. Most of us are going to freeze to death but the ones who don't freeze will then be able to survive!" I have driven over Donner Pass in the High Sierras on Interstate 80 many times to Lake Tahoe or Nevada or Wyoming and Montana and points East.
I laughed with him at this off beat humor.
But, generally speaking, I have found there are no problems only opportunities is a good way to live your life.
For example, if you are breaking up with someone you love you can just give up and kill yourself,
OR you can say to yourself, "I might be over this relationship but what opportunities does it present me with?"
I can travel to another location. I can meet someone else and get married and have children. I can get a job somewhere else so I don't have to think about my ex any more than I absolutely have to.
My future is completely unlimited as long as I learn to let go of the past and move on.
And this is the rub. Letting go of the past might be really hard. But, it's possible to do.
Especially if you decide, "There are no problems only opportunities!"
Because in the end, "Is the glass half full or half empty"
"If you want to go on living and enjoy life it has to be at least half full!"
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
