Though I would call myself an Independent now I was raised a Conservative Republican and even was a Goldwater supporter at age 15. However, by age 21 I had also been exposed to people on the left in college and then understood the good and bad qualities of both a Conservative and a Liberal point of view and everything in between and came to see our two party system as necessary for the U.S. to continue to exist, help human rights here and abroad and to keep our economic system working so people still have jobs here. So, both the democratic and Republican parties are necessary for our nation not to collapse. However, you have to be a pragmatist and not just an idealist to see how the world really works practically speaking.
So, I began to see that too much of a good thing is a bad thing for this country and our two party system has been necessary for the U.S. not to go extinct. The Democratic party champions human rights so poor people aren't just killed in the streets and the Republican party makes sure that our country remains safe from attack from other countries and makes sure our companies stay profitable.
However, now there is a conflict because the middle Class and poor have been harmed seriously by what the Republican Party has done to them since at least 2000. So, both Trump and Sanders are the response of the populace out of extreme anger.
So, I understand how the Republican party traditionally works.
WHO IS THE LIKELY NOMINEE IF TRUMP DOESN'T WIN IN THE FIRST BALLOT. I WOULD SAY KASICH AT THIS POINT IN TIME.
So, here is the way it is now:
At the Republican Convention the two most powerful people are Paul Ryan (Republican Speaker of the House), then Romney (it is traditional for the previous parties Republican presidential and vice presidential candidates be the heads of the party until after the nominating convention. So, the two most powerful people in regard to rules are Paul Ryan and Romney. So, whatever happens will be set in place by Ryan and Romney who are both considered to be Conservative Republicans. However, I see Romney as a moderate and not as a conservative. However, Ryan is definitely a conservative and ready for battle at this convention regarding Conservative Republican principles. He and Romney are the opposite of impressed with Trump and may not vote for him even if he was nominated the Republican Presidential candidate on the first ballot. So, if Trump does not win on the first ballot it is likely he will not win the nomination as of right now.
So, this is where people could be injured or even die at the convention if Trump doesn't get the nomination. And this is what all Republicans are worried about. It is worse than the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago by far at this point in the conflicts everyone sees coming.
(And that year Richard Nixon was voted in President who was a Republican an we all know how that all turned out) Richard Nixon was forced to resign in disgrace for lying to the American People.
This year the likely winner (as of now is Hillary Clinton- A Democrat) she is predicted (by betting groups worldwide to have a 75% chance (as of now) of winning the Presidential election.
