Everyone has about 1 in 1000 chance of getting a heart virus whenever they get their teeth cleaned in a dentist's office

I was reading here it says that myocarditis is fatal about 50 percent of the time. However, I was the only person in Calfornia that I knew of in 1998 that actually survived a heart virus.
Everyone else I knew of died (at least in California) from Fall 1998 until May 1999.
Myocarditis is uncommon and can be caused by a viral infection or a self-directed immune respnse (this is when the persons own immune system attacks the body, such as in autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus). Some autoimmune diseases can affect the heart and cause myocarditis.

People also ask
Can you die from myocarditis?
A: Sudden cardiac death is responsible for up to one half of heart disease deaths. It is not a specific disease itself, but results from a number of very common heart diseases including heart attacks and myocarditis.
