I can say this honestly to you that if my parents were not ministers of a Christian Mystic Church I probably wouldn't have gotten to where I am today.
But, I can also say to you that the way I was eventually mistreated by my religion since birth nearly cost me my life from ages 21 to 25.
And both of these things are true equally.
This is the real problem of churches worldwide of every religion. For example, often child molesters hide within religions (just as we see manifest in the last 2000 years or more of the Catholic Church. By the way this isn't just the Catholic Church that is this way either but in ALL religions pretty equally, (especially when celibacy is advocated).
You will find when poeple aren't trying to be celibate there are less molesting problems because more people are more married and balanced and this tends to make people be more honest about their behaviors than people who can hide in "Celibacy" which is sort of like pretending you don't have to eat food or relieve your body of urine and feces. Celibacy is unnatural for most people and often causes various types of unbalanced mental and emotional states harmful to oneself or others.
So, whenever you see that celibacy is required by a religion you just have to know that molestation of some individuals in that church isn't far behind.
Some people can live okay in celibacy but they are usually about 10% of mankind and they usually don't ever have children anyway because they don't have sexual desires because they are a-sexual or non-sexual anyway.
So, the biggest problems in all churches worldwide center around three things: Power, Sex and Money.
As long as you just expect these problems in ANY church or religion you might be wise enough to survive all these things (as well as your children) otherwise, maybe it's better to stay away from churches and religions completely worldwide. Because all churches in this sense are a disaster zone that draws people who lie to themselves about all sorts of things.
Religions tend to make people lie to themselves a lot which is why they cause so many problems worldwide.
And yet, religions have domesticated mankind and have also made civilizations possible ever since people started farming on earth and stopped being hunter gatherers so much as before.
So, at best all religions are a complete Paradox and though might be useful are not really safe for anyone at all in a psychological sense.
So, if you are in a religion and a church just know you are playing with FIRE!
If you know you are playing with fire (like when you build a campfire or a fire in your fireplace) then you know just how very very careful you have to be to come away sane and alive and not psychologically screwed up from it for life. What Good is a church or religion if it makes you commit suicide before age 25?
