If Air conditioning is bad for the planet what would work instead?

Likely living underground where you might not need air conditioning might be the most viable solution where you blow fresh air down into your underground or into the hillside house or surface dirt burm over the top house at night and close it up during the day to keep the heat out. This way you avoid needing an air conditioner except when the air outside is smoky or difficult to breathe for some reason.

However, even then you are going to need heavy equipment likely to build something like this unless you are young enough to dig all this by hand somehow. But, eventually this likely is one solution among many people will find that works.
