However, my wife had a lot of flack from her mother when she breast fed our now 22 year old daughter too and this comes from people who came of age in the 1930s and 1940s who were worried this would make their breasts sag. It's true when girls had babies a lot in their teens and early 20s in the 1960s and then they didn't wear bras often a 24 year old with kids had breasts sagging to their belly buttons then. But, this also happened a lot then.
So, the debate is really about: "IF you nurse your kid he or she will be smarter and healthier even though the mother might have trouble with her teeth at some point because of nursing her child or children 4 years each.
So, I have seen both sides of this issue and from my point of view I think it's better for kids to have brains and strength and good immune system so I'm in favor of Breastfeeding kids so they grow up smart and strong with really good immune systems.So I advocate breast feeding myself worldwide.
