I think it started with a book my father read to me called: "My Life in Tibet" by Ding le mei (Edwin John Dingle) who traveled to Tibet as a younger man and had amazing experiences there. My father and I also visited his church in Joshua Tree because it was near where my father and I built a house up on Yuca Mesa above Yucca Valley then. Frank Lloyd Wright designed his church if it is still there now. I know that Carrie Fisher way back when she was younger and before she passed on did a spiritual retreat there also.
