Oregon is not as bad as places further to the East of Washington state and Oregon but if you have ever been in 20 degrees in a 24 mph wind it's pretty bad unless you are in a car with a heater at the time. My son and his family all have the flu. I asked him not to go outside from 4 am Thursday morning to 6 am Friday morning because of the Winter storm Wind chill advisory. On top of everything else it is snowing in Portland Thursday and Friday. Snow is pretty unusual for Portland by the way. It happens but not much per year. Temperatures this low for this long are also unusual to some degree. The clouds in the winter usually keep the temperatures somewhat above freezing so snow is rare usually. So, rain is normal but snow doesn't usually happen much. But, this year all this might change for both Seattle and Portland the way all this is presently going.
