I think the U.S. is shooting down Chinese Balloons because of Solar Geo-engineering of our weather or some kind of biological warfare being conducted

 This is what I presently think. It isn't about gathering information it is about protecting our weather and our nations from bio-weapons attacks or even nanobot attacks since really small robots can be built now smaller than a human hair in width. So, no one would even know what they were unless they were trained and looked at them through a microscope.
