It does keep the temperatures down along the coast usually below 75 or 80 during the summers. So, if I want to see the sun often I have to drive inland to see the sun where it might be 80 to 110 degrees to actually see the sun. So, where I live on the coast people generally don't have air conditioners simply because you need your heating system mostly year around (at least at night) because of this.
So, the high temperature problems north and East of us are not happening here. For example, the highs here this week are from about 59 degrees to 63 degrees because the heat inland has sucked the fog off the ocean for now. It can be high fog or low fog but usually you might need an air conditioner 1 to 3 days sometime in August or September every year. However, this year could be different too. You never know these days.
