What is the essence of Civilization?
Done properly it is people helping each other survive and prosper in all ways here on earth.
This is what Civilization has always been about.
Of course then there are people like Trump and Putin and XI who destroy all this can create HELL here on earth for everyone.
So, for me, at least Trump and Putin and XI are the opposite of civilization and can be thought of as the "Bringers of Armageddon" and the end of mankind.
Whereas people like the Dalai Lama are the essence of civilization itself and millions of years (potentially) of human civilization continuing here on earth.

What is the basis of Civilization?
Kindness towards oneself and all other beings.
Every living on earth prospering and living successfully together as much as possible.
Death is inevitable for everyone but understanding this life can be Amazing and Wonderful (while each of us is here) if you are kind to yourself and others and all life on earth and throughout the universe.

In other words it is possible to create (Heaven on earth for everyone) while you are alive here on earth!
