My wife and I a few years ago now asked if we could remove two huge Eucalyptus Trees so they wouldn't fall and damage our house

The owner of the land next door had no problem with this. So, we removed the two eucalyptus trees that could have smashed into our daughter's bedroom or destroying our backyard deck. However, since then the day before Christmas a tree that couldn't reach our house did fall that was big like the eucalyptus trees in the wind and smashed the cover to my outdoor hot tub and part of our deck around the hot tub.

So, we were very grateful that we had survived this too. It also brought down part of our neighbor's and our fence down too. So, our neighbors paid for the removal of the tree when it fell. Since our gardeners were also their gardeners this went pretty smoothly regarding the removal of the tree. However, it took me about 3 months to by more timber Tech plastic wood which is expensive to repair our deck and it still isn't perfect but at least people can't fall now 4 to 5 feet from the deck onto the ground because the railings that the tree destroyed have been replaced now.

So, when a 40 foot tree comes down onto your house or property it can get pretty serious.

My wife woke me up the day before Christmas 2024 and said she had heard a loud bang from the storms and winds. So, I went out to see what was happening at 6 am in my robe. At first I couldn't tell what I was looking at because the tree is so big. I couldn't imagine at the time that that tree so far away could have fallen this close to our house. So, I actually had to go out another door than the one to the deck to better understand what had happened. So, when I saw the root system in the air for the 40 foot tall pine tree I finally began to understand what had happened. I couldn't believe the falling of this tree hadn't even woken me up but my wife is a lighter sleeper than I am.

So, be careful if the winds are getting stronger where you live and you are worried about your house being damaged or destroyed or Red Tagged so no one can live in it anymore (until it is rebuilt).
