Signs of our Times

One of the signs of our times I would have to say is Starvation.

Even though for most people starvation isn't necessary (at least this is true here in the U.S.), Because of the cost of living and because of global Climate changes food has become so expensive mainly because of how many ruined crops there are worldwide.

However, if you have enough money you can have food shipped from other countries (where people are starving) here to the U.S. where less people are starving. And this happens here too for the people who have enough money to pay for this.

This is regarding a friend of mine who was talking to my wife about his son.

Basically it went like this. He was eligible for free school lunch but they only allowed 26 minutes to get your free lunch and eat it. However, here is the problem:

You are in line 20 to 25 minutes to even get your free lunch. So, the kids that most need these free lunches at school might get there food and then not be allowed to eat it because food cannot leave the Cafeteria.

So, even though school free lunches have been put back into schools nationwide through a bipartisan effort of Congress then there isn't enough time given the children to actually eat the food because of short lunch periods unless they eat the food so fast they might choke and die on it. And even then this is no useful solution to the problem.

So, unless kids are given enough time to eat they cannot usefully do this without choking or starving.

However, I can remember that I didn't eat often until 4:30 pm on school days at all simply because I wasn't a morning person. I was a night person. So, when I ate breakfast I might throw it up at school because going to school in the morning never worked for me because of my personal biorhythms.

However, I always had food to eat at home which might not be true for many of these children in public schools anymore because their parents or guardians don't have money to actually buy food for these children anymore in today's world if we are realistic about all this.
