Back in the Greater SF BAY area

We left about 10 am this morning and loaded our car and left after visiting the Starbucks for breakfast on the go. They have a new product and italian sausage egg bite. You usually get 2 in an order. I liked this okay but my wife thought it was too salty.

Then we headed out and I drove as far as Williams. It was at that time around 94 in Redding when we went through going to 100 today. By the time we got to Santa Nella before going over the Pacheco pass 152 towards the coast it was 100 degrees and our corgi dog sort of looked like she was wilting or something with all her fur even though we had the back seat part of the air conditioner running for her all the way home. When we got to the coast it was foggy where we live and we were sort of grateful after all the heat today while traveling. My wife drove from Williams to Santa Nella and I drove home. However, by Santa Nella I was ready for a nap but I had bought an Ice Coffee (Starbucks) in case I needed to drive today. My wife didn't want me to drive if I was sleepy and I told her she needed to let me drive while I was drinking an Ice Coffee so I could stay awake and be safe to drive. So, we all got home safely and then I took a nap instead of unloading because the last 24 hours has been a lot.

But, it was a wonderful trip and with the exception of the Root Fire it was exactly what we needed after my wife's Biomom passed away in July of 2025.

So, it's good to be home after driving so far from Mt. Shasta today here on the coast where it is beautiful in an entirely different way than Mt. Shasta is.
