Radioactivity rises in sea off Japan nuclear plant
If you click on the above article it mentions that radioactivity is rising in the ocean at an alarming rate at present which likely means that there a new unknown high releases of radioactivity and that the location of these leaks from the containment vessels because of partial meltdowns or other causes.
Radioactive iodine which will be full strength with a half life of only 8 days will still be present at 1/8 strength even at 32 days, however. But radioactive Cesium is a much bigger problem. Caesium-137 (137
55Cs, Cs-137) is a radioactive isotope of caesium which is formed as a fission product by nuclear fission. Because radioactive Cesium or Caesium has a Half-life of about 30.17 years which means you get down to about 1/8 strength radiation in about 120+ years. Cesium radiation is the main reason why the area around Chernobyl is still abandoned for safety reasons by all or most humans today 25 years later.
