If you study history you can see what the change from farming to the Industrial Revolution did to mankind in the developed world. I think we are there again. But instead this time it is worse for mankind to deal with. Either way, likely it will mean to a greater or lesser degree going back to the land to farm once again to feed oneself. Those that stay in the cities without jobs or the hope of a job might only wind up with despair, disease and eventual death simply because of the cost of living in larger cities around the world. In other words if you don't own a business and are not a shareholder in large, middle or smaller businesses likely you will not be able to afford to live in cities because of how much more expensive (relatively speaking) they are to live in than in the more remote places of the earth.
So, I foresee this moving to the country away from information technology and robotics is what the majority of people will be forced to do by circumstance during the rest of this century. And only the wealthiest left to live in the larger cities of the world. So, a return to farming on small plots just to be able to afford to feed oneself and one's family might become the norm worldwide once again.
IT is said that one person can live on what they can grow on one acre but if that is true they are likely to be skinny but surviving well and healthy. This might be the future of mankind this century because of jobs being taken away from people by information technology and robotics. People who fight this new technology mostly will be ground under the technology by governments loyal to businesses rather than to people worldwide. So, the best way to actually survive all this likely is to go back to the land to grow enough food to survive and live through it all. These are my thoughts during this latest information and robotics technology massive loss of jobs worldwide.
So, I think that co-operatives of people growing enough food for them all to live in that group might become the norm more this century, as well as families renting or buying land to grow food to survive these times.
And many of those who fight the system and fight against the machines likely will not survive this century unfortunately. If you study the Industrial revolution historically it disrupted families and lives around the world and usually not for the better.
IT is not that information technology and robotics technology is bad in itself. It is what people DO with that technology that will actually create the problems for mankind.
IT is sort of like the saying for guns:
Guns don't kill people. People kill people
In this case it would read:
Robots don't kill people. People use robots to kill people and their livelihoods.
IT is the same thing. IT is sort of like in today's world people are so sophisticated about things they probably would say: "Oh. I can run my business much cheaper with information technology and robotics and I would have to go out of business if I didn't."
Yes. This is true. But what happens to all mankind when literally EVERY business owner does this worldwide?
The answer is something like the French Revolution in the 1790s with Guillotines for the aristocracy.
So, this is something for everyone to start thinking about because this is where we all are now and unfortunately where we all may be going now.
And if the aristocracy uses robotic drones (land, sea and air) to stop people from preventing their use of robotics as workers instead of people where are we then, in a "Terminator" movie?
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
