I lived in Glendale, California from 1956 until 1969 when I moved to Venice, California and worked there as an electrician before moving to the San Diego Area where my parents moved to because Dad could make more money there because he was IBEW Union Journeyman Electrician. So, just moving and working there I think he was making about 15 dollars an hour which was a great deal in 1969. When He retired he was making 30 dollars an hour I believe or around there. He was pretty happy to be making so much money then.
My first paper route was at age 10 so I would be 4th or 5th grade in elementary school then. My second paper route was when I was 14 or 15.
