Back to the Future- 1985

IN 1985 I was in my late 30s and my father had just passed away in August when it just came out. My mother and I had given my father's Memorial in Yucca Valley and some of my relatives were there for this. Afterwards because my three kids were there and wanted to cheer them and my mother up a little we all went down to Palm Springs to see "Back to the Future" which was and is a really great movie on many different levels. The other two sequels are okay too.

After the movie my mother's Ford LTD stopped running which meant we were now 30 miles from our nearest transportation with about 7 of us needing transportation back there. Luckily one of my kids found some marines going back to 29 Palms marine base who had seen the movie the same time we did and my wife and my oldest stepson caught a ride with them back to our home. We thanked the Marines and about 1 1/2 hours later my wife and stepson came back with our 4WD International Harvester Scout II. We loaded everyone on board and headed for my Dad and Mom's 2 1/2 acres near Yucca Valley on the Mesa above there towards Landers where the big earthquake was years later.

The next day or two we tried to get the LTD fixed but it was sort of done for so I helped my Mom get a Honda so she could get better mileage. I had just bought a Honda Civic 4wd for my business so I thought she might want better mileage too.

I just finished the last episode and am beginning the first episode (which is the best one) on the AMC cable channel here in the U.S.
