Though I'm sharing this article the facts I find very unsatisfying somehow. There is a lot of hype with no proof that I see so far. It's possible that percoset poisoning? set in 6 days later of course but I can't see the facts yet to back this up.

Prince nearly overdosed on the painkiller Percocet just six days before the iconic musician’s lifeless body was found inside his Minnesota home studio, according to TMZ.com.
The 57-year-old took the highly-addictive opiate before flying home aboard his private plane after his final live show in Atlanta — an April 14 concert on his “Piano & A Microphone” tour.
The mid-air crisis forced an emergency landing of the aircraft to get medical assistance.

Members of his entourage told first responders about the Purple One’s prescription drug use, and EMTs administered a “save shot” at the Quad City International Airport to resuscitate the rocker, TMZ reported Friday morning.

Percocet, or oxycodone, is a widely-prescribed narcotic.

The Percocet was apparently taken by Prince to combat chronic hip pain, with TMZ saying the Oscar and Grammy winner had surgery on his hips a half-dozen years ago.

Prince (r.) was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota to musician parents -- his father was part of a jazz group and his mother was a jazz singer. In 1977, Prince signed his first major record deal with Warner Bros. and immediately went on to release his first album "For You" in 1978. In Oct. of 1979, Prince released his second self-titled album "Prince" that gained much recognition and went on to peak at number 4 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums. The album contained hit songs "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?" and "I Wanna Be Your Lover."

Prince pal Sheila E., appearing Friday morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” confirmed the singer-songwriter-musician injured his hips while jumping around the stage in high heels during the “Purple Rain” era live shows.
Prince collapsed inside an elevator at his suburban Minnesota home Thursday morning, and was unconscious and unresponsive when authorities reached his home. He was declared dead at the scene.

An autopsy was underway Friday to determine the cause of death, although authorities warned it could take days or even weeks to discover what killed Prince.
The autopsy began at 9 a.m., about 15 hours after the body arrived at the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey, Minn.
