If you had a wonderful mother and you presently have a wonderful wife then you can appreciate how wonderful it is to have a mother that is there for you in a good way. My mother and her mother both were always there for me growing up as we lived in the same places from my birth until I was in my teens. So, they both in their own way were like mothers to me. Also, my mother was one of three sisters so I was a boy so I was spoiled a lot by my mother and Grandmother too which is both good and bad. Getting a lot of attention from women in a mostly good way makes a young man more likeable and gentlemanly around women in general.
My mother and my mother's mother sort of tried to raise me to be a Gentleman. When I grew up I saw how English Gentlemen were and I could see how my Scottish Grandmother trained me to say when people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was trained to say by Age 4: "I want to be a gentleman when I grow up."
And so this I became. I was a gentleman around women especially and always took care of them if they needed my help in any way. I was less sure of men and boys because I found many men and boys really crazy in various ways (especially the ones who had been in World War II and the Korean War and eventually the Viet Nam War too.
So, I tended to trust women because generally speaking they could usually be trusted, especially mothers and grandmothers of almost anyone. This seemed to be sort of true wherever you went in life.
You could usually trust women who were mothers and grandmothers because often they would defend you as a child with their lives so I respected this always about women and never forgot what amazing parents and Grandparents I had.
Happy Mother's Day!
