I read Isaac Asimov's Foundation and Foundation and Empire in the 1950s or early 1960s

However, when I tried to watch the Series I was very confused by what I saw and it didn't make any sense to me. My wife thinks tonight that I must have watched the first episode or two of the 2nd season because that was all that was available to me as I watched it. We didn't have Apple Plus then I don't think so I'm wondering how I could have watched the 2nd season and didn't know what I was watching or where I watched it. Tonight my wife was interested and I told her I had read "Foundation" and "Foundation and Empire" in late 50s or early 1960s when I was under 14 years old.

I realized today that some of Hari Seldon's ideas I agreed with like civilization going on hundreds of thousands of years or even millions of years.

However, I always realized that you would need something like Time Travel to retroactively stop nuking or some wars or other things that caused human extinction on planets in order to keep civilization going throughout the Galaxy. So, Isaac Asimov was actually very wise to write something like this when he did because trying to keep civilization alive throughout the galaxy seems like a worthwhile endeavor.

Trying to prevent human extinction from taking everyone out permanently seems a worthwhile endeavor.

So, for me, I always saw God and Retroactive Time Travel as the logical solution to this problem and I think it's what I still believe is likely useful in that order.
