No matter your opinion on Barney Frank you also know he is a brilliant and presently retiring politician. So, because he is retiring he can now say things others might not.
I was listening to an interview where he was saying that "Tea Party" Republicans in the House cannot vote for ANY compromise regarding the Fiscal Cliff because they are "Anti-Government". He spoke of how angry the populace was when they voted tea party candidates into office and how much damage they had already done to the government. Because democracy is always based upon compromise. When you don't have compromise you don't have a democracy.
However, a new Congress with many less Tea party candidates will come into office in a new Congress the first week in January that will be much less likely to cause compromise problems for our democracy. This is one reason why going over the fiscal cliff might be necessary to solve our basic problems with compromise.
Since the electorate realized their mistake of voting in tea party candidates too late after the 2010 elections they rectified the problem mostly in the last election in 2012 and these candidates will be sworn in the first week in January 2013.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
