Whiteout Conditions
Whiteout conditions during a Blizzard are extremely dangerous. If you want to know what being in a real whiteout is like basically cover your face with your hands so you can't see at all and then try to walk around the house and decide what direction you are going without feeling everything for bearings along the way. The worst whiteout I was in on Mt. Shasta nearly ended my life because I hadn't been in one before. But, if this occurs while driving, do everything you can to get off the road with your car and somewhere safe away from traffic. Because it always seems like there is one crazy person driving through a whiteout that kills everybody else. It only takes one in a hundred to hurt or kill a whole lot of people while driving through a whiteout where you can't see past the hood of your car. Driving is usually fairly impossible in a complete whiteout because you have no idea where you are. You might know where you are within a mile, but that doesn't help when actually trying to drive a car or truck through a whiteout.
