I was telling my older daughter about how when I returned from India and Nepal in April 1986 that I realized I had lived the most important dreams in my life. I had had a son, I had been married twice, I was raising two step kids and I had lived all the most important dreams in my life and I felt at that point completely lost (in regard to what I wanted to do for me the rest of my life). So, my focus became more my children and it has been that way the last 30 years of my life rather than have myself be the focus of my life. So, from my dreams I moved from myself to my children's dreams and trying to make it possible for them to live their dreams too. This has worked for me and hopefully this might work for you too.
But, I remember just how lost I felt in 1986 having lived my important dreams and thinking, "I don't have anything else for me to live for."
But, living for one's children and for all the children of earth is a wise endeavor too so that the human race goes on uninterrupted for millions of years into the future both on earth and also beyond.
When I was a young man and went to weddings of younger people, I often thought to myself, "This might be the most amazing thing that ever happens to them in their lives, just getting married. But, what are they going to do with the rest of their lives?"
Having done it now I better understand.
Even though I never married until I was 26 which was considered sort of old to get married then, I had a good life because I dated a lot of girls so I knew what I liked in a partner rather than marrying the first girl or girls I dated. It doesn't make life perfect but at least you experienced a lot of people so you are less likely to make a mistake in who you marry. However, that doesn't stop you from making all sorts of other mistakes in your life. You learn a whole lot more from your mistakes than you ever do from your successes by the way.
So, even if you live all your dreams there is still a path forward for you but you have to choose it.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
