The good news about Smart chips in your cards is that you don't have to worry about them as much during point of sale. In other words the kinds of problems that Target and other businesses had I believe last year isn't the same problem with smart chips in cards.
However, with chips in your cards what you do have to worry about is people with scanners that can read those chips while they walk by you in your pockets or pocketbook.
To prevent this problem you either need RFID sheaths for each of your cards or you need to buy an RFID wallet which is usually impregnated with aluminum filings to prevent your cards from being read by a scanner in someone backpack or pocket walking by you.
The RFID sheiths and wallets prevent Identity theft of your identity as well as people making fake smart cards or regular credit cars from the information they steal from you while walking by you.
So, even though smart chip cards are better, they are still dangerous in a whole new way. So, if you are going to change over to smart chip cards you need to have either RFID sheaths or and RFID wallet to protect your identity and credit.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
